PureFresh 20L Dehumidifier: Air Purifier Function Explained

What the air purifier function actually adds

The PureFresh 20 Litre Dehumidifier does two jobs in one unit: it pulls moisture from the air and runs a UV and ION air purification stage. The UV function is described as sterilisation, disinfection and odour reduction, while the ION function is said to refresh the air and target viruses, dust mites, mould and airborne allergens such as hay fever particles.

That combination matters in a damp room because moisture control and air quality are linked problems. You are not choosing between a dehumidifier and an air purifier here; both functions sit in the same appliance, so your routine is about when to run each one rather than which machine to buy.

Capacity and coverage before you start

• PureFresh 20 Litre Dehumidifier with Air Purifier Function - Grey: Extracts up to 20L of moisture per day and suits rooms up to 40m2, such as master bedrooms and living spaces. This sets the scale of the job: a damp bedroom or living room is the intended use, not a whole house.

• PureFresh 20 Litre Dehumidifier with Air Purifier Function - Grey: 4L water tank with a full-tank reminder, and the front circle changes colour with room humidity. The tank reminder tells you when to empty it, and the colour indicator gives you a visual check on humidity without opening the app or panel.

How to run the dehumidifier and air purifier together

There is no separate air-purifier-only mode described in the supplied information. Treat the UV and ION functions as part of the unit's air treatment while it is running, and use the dehumidifier settings below to match the room's condition.

1. 1. Place the unit in the damp room: Position it in the room you want to treat, within the 40m2 coverage. The oscillating airflow swings between 45° and 90°, which helps move treated air around a generous room.
2. 2. Choose the smart function for automatic humidity control: The smart function adjusts operation based on humidity levels, and the multicolour indicator light shows the current room humidity. This is the simplest setting when you want the unit to manage itself.
3. 3. Use the laundry function when drying clothes indoors: The laundry setting optimises the dehumidifier to remove moisture from the air so clothes dry faster indoors, especially in wet weather. Switch to it when you have washing on an airer.
4. 4. Set the 1–24 hour timer for a defined run: The on/off timer can be set from 1 to 24 hours, so you can run a drying session or an overnight purge without leaving the unit on indefinitely.
5. 5. Watch the front circle and empty the tank: The front circle changes colour with room humidity, and the unit alerts you when the removable 4L tank is full. Empty it when prompted and restart if you want more drying.

Settings at a glance: which mode for which job

Use smart mode for everyday humidity control in a bedroom or living room. Use laundry mode when wet washing is the main moisture source. Use the timer when you want a fixed drying window, such as a two-hour session after a shower or a longer overnight run. The UV and ION air purification runs alongside these dehumidifying modes rather than as a separate switch in the supplied information.

If you are unsure whether the air purifier is active, check the control panel labels on the unit itself; the supplied material describes a clear soft-touch control panel but does not list a standalone purifier-only button.

Practical details that affect daily use

• PureFresh 20 Litre Dehumidifier with Air Purifier Function - Grey: Dimensions H58 x W20.6 x D38cm, weight 13.8kg, and a 2m power cord. Check floor space and socket reach before you commit to a spot; the unit is movable but not lightweight.
• PureFresh 20 Litre Dehumidifier with Air Purifier Function - Grey: Uses R290 refrigerant with very low Global Warming Potential and zero Ozone Depletion Potential. This is a sustainability consideration if refrigerant choice matters to you.

Checkpoints before you rely on the air purifier claims

• Room size: The 40m2 coverage is the stated suitability. A larger open-plan space may need more than one unit or a different model.
• Tank routine: The 4L tank and full-tank reminder mean you will need to empty it regularly during damp spells; the supplied information does not state continuous drainage options.
• Allergen and virus claims: The ION and UV functions are described as targeting viruses, dust mites, mould and airborne allergens. The supplied information does not include independent test results, so treat these as manufacturer descriptions rather than guaranteed medical outcomes.
